Project description

Located not far away from one of the first French eco-district (« La Cite Jardin du Petit Betheny ») and from the first social collective passive house building in France (« La Clairiere »), the project goes one step further in excellence. The target with this building is to combine three fundamental characteristics: the architectural quality, the affordability and the energy efficiency.

Location and orientation

The development of this BuildTog has been planned in a new district, simultaneously with five new individual houses parallel to the building. The BuildTog is oriented North – South. It is parallel to a newly constructed access road. All the dwellings are N-S crossing or have, at least, a double orientation

Use

There are fifteen apartments in this four-storey building. The staircase is situated in the North face of the building. The three dwellings located on the ground floor have been designed for wheelchair accessibility, they are barrier-free. In every apartment, the living rooms are located in the South face and the rooms in the North face. Each flat has its own balcony, situated in the South face.

Construction

The building is planned as a solid structure. It has no basement or underground parking. From a thermal point of view, the envelope is very efficient thanks to an outdoor insulation and thanks to almost no thermal bridges. A ventilation system with heat recovery from exhaust air has been planned for all floors. Some solar panels located on the roof of the building will contribute to the production of domestic hot water.

Number of dwellings: 15
Number of tenants: 38 (theory)
